Employer Reporting Resources
The proper reporting of members’ contributions, service credit and earnings is important, since this information is used in members’ eligibility for, and calculation of, their benefits. NYSTRS’ employer reporting process depends on the accuracy and timeliness of the information employers provide provided to us. The following resources will assist you in this important role.
- The Employer District Specific Issue Report Issue Code Reference Guide includes explanations for different types of issue codes, along with instructions for employers.
- Reporting Tips provides helpful information on employer reporting.
- Reporting of Earnings FAQs includes answers to many common questions on how to properly report earnings.
- The Pay Categories Reference Guide helps employers accurately report payments to NYSTRS in the Employer Secure Area (ESA) by outlining each category’s description, reportability, applicable member contributions and deductions, and how service should be reported.
