During a consultation, you will: learn about your NYSTRS benefits; see the impact of reaching key service milestones; review your benefit payment options at retirement; and receive personalized benefit estimates.

COVID-19 Note: Until further notice all benefit consultations are being conducted by telephone. A System representative will call you at the scheduled time using the number you provided when booking your appointment. If you have questions, please call us at (800) 348-7298, Ext. 6100.

Estimates you would have received during an in-person or video consultation will instead be uploaded to your MyNYSTRS account. If you don't have an account, we strongly urge you to create one prior to your telephone consultation. Register for your account here. You will need to enter the last four digits of your Social Security number and NYSTRS EmplID so have those handy. The latter can be found on the Benefit Profile sent to you each fall or on personal correspondence you have received from NYSTRS. If necessary, we could mail your estimates to you instead.
