Section 5001.6  - Service Credit for Members of the Retirement Board Who Have Been Elected by the Membership of the System

Each member of the retirement board who has been elected by the membership of the retirement system and has been granted a leave of absence, pursuant to subdivision 6 of section 506 of the Education Law, shall receive a year of service credit for each year of service on the retirement board, or where such service is less than one year, credit shall be granted in accordance with section 5001.2.
