NYSTRS Posts 23.2% Investment Return
A robust total fund return of 23.2% net of fees for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011 was the largest rate of return posted in 25 years by NYSTRS. The figure was nearly double the previous year's return of 12.1%. (Read more)

NYSTRS Featured in Study of Well-Designed Public Pensions
NYSTRS models excellence in several key areas critical to the long-term health of public pension funds, according to a study released today. The report, titled "Lessons from Well-Funded Public Pensions: An Analysis of Six Plans that Weathered the Financial Storm," was authored by Dr. Jun Peng, an associate professor at the University of Arizona's School of Government and Public Policy, and Ilana Boivie, an economist and director of programs at the National Institute on Retirement Security (NIRS).
