Copy of Latest Administrative Bulletin

For your information, we are providing you a copy of our most recent Administrative Bulletin which was sent in August to all Chief School Administrators, College and University Presidents and School Contacts.

Effective immediately, all termination payments for Tier 1 members joining before June 17, 1971 made within the calendar year of retirement should be reported to the System as salary received. This is a change from our TRS Administrative Bulletin 78-4 and is in accordance with the laws, rules and regulations governing this System and a recent Comptroller's ruling (Opinion 2000-04).

          As in the past,

• termination payments should not be reported for Tier 2, 3, or 4 members and

• for all tiers, termination payments made beyond the calendar year of retirement should not be reported to the System.
