Summary of Actions

Approved a resolution honoring Board Vice President Sheila J. Salenger for her more than 20 years of service as a NYSTRS trustee and wished her well on her retirement from the Board.

Authorized, subject to the satisfactory completion of due diligence, the allocation of up to $250 million with LSV Asset Management to manage a portion of the System’s assets as an active ACWI ex-U.S. international equity manager.

Authorized, subject to the satisfactory completion of due diligence, the allocation of up to $250 million with Baillie Gifford to manage a portion of the System’s assets as an active ACWI ex-U.S. international equity manager.

Renewed the agreement with Adelante Capital Management LLC to manage a portion of the System’s portfolio by actively investing in real estate investment trusts (REITs) and real estate operating companies (REOCs) securities, for one year, effective July 1, 2011.

Renewed the agreement with Cohen & Steers Capital Management Inc. to manage a portion of the System’s portfolio by actively investing in REIT and REOC securities, for one year, effective July 1, 2011.

Renewed the agreement with Cohen & Steers Capital Management Inc. to manage in an income-oriented account a portion of the System’s portfolio by actively investing in REIT and REOC securities, for one year, effective July 1, 2011.

Renewed the agreement with RREEF America LLC to manage a portion of the System’s portfolio by actively investing in REIT and REOC securities, for one year, effective July 1, 2011.

Approved the Retirement System’s operating budget and internal audit plan for the 2011-2012 fiscal year.

Approved a resolution appointing Frederick W. Herrmann managing director of public equities.

Adopted guidelines for certification, reporting and cooperation with other fiduciary controlled entities with respect to minority and women-owned asset managers and financial institutions (MWBEs).

Heard an informational report from Hewitt EnnisKnupp on its asset/liability study of the System.
